Mais Taha

International Pioneer | Eco-designer | Architectural Technologist 

 

Mais Taha is a Jordanian-Jerusalemite industry-scale pioneer based in Valletta, Malta.


As an eco-designer, Taha has designed kinetic architecture since 2004 and contributed to Amman Design Week and Dubai Design Week, after contributing to several notable-regional deplomatic and high-end luxury projects within EMEA and North America. 

Mais has been involved in nature conservation with the Royal Society for the Conservation of Nature since her teens, and was backed with their support when she launched XUKRA" in early 2023, a platform that advocates for prioritizing value of investment and socio-economic growth. She served as the product development manager for Jordan Heritage Revival Company (JHRC) under King Abdullah II Fund for Development. 

Her first government and diplomatic recognition came from the Government of Jordan and the American Embassy in 1997. After relocating to Malta in 2017, she was also awarded several honors by the Government of Malta and the U.S. Embassy in Valletta for her innovative pan-industry digital twin solutions and international recognition. 


Innovation and Entrepreneurial Journey

  • 2011: Founded Hackberry Tree eco-brands co-branding and luxury eco-products design (Celtis).

  • 2014: Represented ZHAW at the EuroFM Conference Students Poster Competition.

  • 2015: Finalist in the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Award for Facilities Management through BIM Digital Design.

  • 2016: Designer at Amman Design Week (Pouring Installation).

  • 2017: Designer at Dubai Design Week (Redefining the Cube Water Fountain).

  • 2017–2019: Investor's representative for a renovation project.

  • 2019–2021: Led digital transformation in two Maltese companies.

  • 2019: Shortlisted for the Women in Construction Award for Best Architectural Technologist.

  • 2021: Founded her first startup, Mais Taha InovaXion PlatformZ Ltd.

  • 2021: Won the U.S. Embassy in Malta Award for Women Entrepreneurs for the iPX-XEROWASTE project.

  • 2021: Finalist in the Queen Rania National Entrepreneurship Award for a Medical Internet of Things Management System for Pandemics and Active Ageing.

  • 2021: Joined the Founder Institute Switzerland.

  • 2022: Recognized as Energy Innovator of Western Europe by the Energy Engineering Association.

  • 2022: Founded XROWASTE in the USA (exited in 2025).

  • 2022: Funded by Malta Enterprise for the first time (wage support).

  • 2022: Finalist in EIT Jumpstarter under EIT RawMaterials.

  • 2022: Took part in EIT Manufacturing with the REMEmed project and developed the first prototype.

  • 2022: Won the TYOP Award by JCI Malta for Sustainable Innovation.

  • 2022: Won the Malta Intellectual Property Award for the iPX project.

  • 2023–2024: Funded for the second time by Malta Enterprise (tax support).

  • 2023: Funded by Xjenza Malta for a Horizon Europe networking event at the EIT RawMaterials Summit.

  • 2024: Won the ITU Digital Change Maker Award.

  • 2025: Participated in GEW2025 Jordan in partnership with the Queen Rania Centre for Entrepreneurship.

  • 2025: Participated in the Malta TECEXPO.

  • 2025: MCAST Guest Speaker for "Bridging the Digital Literacy Gap for Third Generation Classes."

  • 2025: Received GTI Recognition for the XUKRA project.

  • 2025: Won the EuroFM Award for Best Industry Initiative for the XUKRA project.
